About Top Provider
Top Provider helps businesses find the right vendors for their needs. We connect buyers with providers across dozens of categories by understanding each company’s size, industry, and specific requirements, then matching them with vendors that actually fit. Our buyers get expert-guided matching at no cost, and our providers get connected with high-intent, qualified prospects.
About the role
As a Lead Qualification Specialist, you are the first live voice a potential buyer hears after they’ve requested help finding a vendor. Your job is to work through a queue of inbound leads, identify which buyers have real purchasing power in their category, and conduct a needs assessment call to qualify them for matching with the right providers.
This is not a cold calling position. Every person you call has already raised their hand and asked for help. You are not selling a product or closing deals. You are evaluating, qualifying, and gathering the information our matching team needs to deliver accurate results.
You will make 120+ outbound calls per day. Speed and consistency matter, but so does the quality of the information you collect. The best people in this role can quickly assess a lead’s legitimacy, determine whether the buyer has authority and intent in their category, and conduct a focused needs assessment that captures the details that drive a strong match.
A typical day
Your day revolves around working the lead queue. You’ll review incoming leads, assess whether they appear to have legitimate buying power in the category they’ve requested, and prioritize your outreach accordingly. When you connect with a buyer, you’ll run a structured needs assessment: confirming their business details, understanding what they’re looking for, gauging their timeline and decision-making authority, and documenting everything so the matching team can take it from there.
Between live conversations, you’ll be cycling through follow-up attempts on leads that didn’t pick up, updating records in the CRM, and moving through the queue at a steady pace.
Key responsibilities
- Review leads to identify whether the buyer has category buying power before calling
- Make 120+ outbound calls per day to buyers who have submitted requests through Top Provider or our partner channels
- Conduct needs assessment calls: confirm business details, understand the buyer’s requirements, and assess timeline, budget awareness, and decision-making authority
- Validate lead information including company name, contact details, company size, and category of interest
- Accurately document all qualifying details, call outcomes, and next steps in the CRM
- Follow up with leads who didn’t answer on prior attempts
- Meet or exceed daily, weekly, and monthly performance benchmarks for call volume, contact rates, and qualification rates
- Flag data quality issues or lead flow patterns to your team lead
What we’re looking for
- Experience in a high-volume phone role: call center, inside sales, appointment setting, lead qualification, or similar

- Strong listening skills and the ability to ask clear, concise qualifying questions
- Good judgment in assessing whether a lead is legitimate and worth pursuing
- Attention to detail when entering data and notes into CRM tools
- Reliable, self-motivated, and able to maintain energy and professionalism throughout the day
- Familiarity with CRM platforms (Salesforce, HubSpot, or similar) is a plus but not required
What this role is not
We want to be upfront so you know exactly what you’re signing up for:
- This is not a cold calling job. Every lead has already requested help.
