Job title: TriCore Wellness Intern

Overall Job Summary:
The TriCore Wellness Internship is a structured, multi-stage program designed to develop the next generation of health and performance professionals. This role provides hands-on experience in wellness coaching, account management, client communication, and digital systems used throughout TriCore’s ecosystem.
Interns gain exposure to both the science and business of coaching, learning how to apply exercise and nutrition principles while understanding the operations that drive successful wellness programs.
This role is the first step in TriCore’s internal development pathway:
Intern → Trainer → Pro Coach → Consultant.
Detailed Responsibilities and Duties
As an intern, you will have three distinct pathways to specialize in, allowing you to leverage your skills and interests while contributing to TriCore’s mission:
- Marketing Pathway: Focuses on brand awareness and engagement.
- Social media content creation and management.
- Newsletter development and distribution.
- Other marketing initiatives as needed.
- Sales & Events Pathway: Concentrates on client acquisition and community engagement.
- Supporting sales and outreach for individual, community, and employee wellness clients.
- Nurturing leads and assisting with booking appointments.
- Supporting and organizing various events (individual services, community, or employee wellness).
- Management Assistance Pathway: Provides internal support and operational efficiency.
- Executive assistance for TriCore managers.
- Supporting with data tracking, client lists, and accounting.
- Assisting with internal file organization and categorization in Google Drive.
- Conducting research to support business initiatives.
Stage 1: Foundational Learning (0–3 months)
Focus: Observation, systems training, and foundational wellness education.
Coaching & Technical Development
- Learn and apply TriCore’s coaching methodology and client success systems.
- Support Pro Coaches with workout building, exercise library management, and programming assistance within Trainerize.
- Shadow coaching sessions, wellness assessments, and account meetings.
- Complete assigned education modules on exercise science, programming, and client communication.
Administrative & Content Support
- Assist in developing and organizing TriCore’s wellness content, including educational materials, presentations, and newsletters. INTERNAL FILES GOOGLE DRIVE ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- Support marketing and communication efforts across all areas of the business; corporate, community, and private client programs.
- Gain familiarity with how TriCore measures participation and engagement across programs.
- Assist in organizing and maintaining app programs and digital resource libraries.
- Provide general administrative support by maintaining internal documents, reports, and project boards across TriCore systems.
Systems & Tools
- Learn to navigate TriCore’s platforms (Trainerize, Google Suite, Constant Contact, WellnessLiving).
- Support organization of digital files, reports, and project management boards.
Stage 2: Application & Account Liaison (3–6 months)
Focus: Apply learned systems, support programs, and gain confidence managing projects with supervision.
Client & Program Support
- Support the execution of wellness programs, challenges, and educational events under coach supervision.
- Assist with scheduling, communication, and follow-up for assigned accounts or initiatives.
- Help onboard new clients into TriCore systems (Trainerize, ClickUp, WellnessLiving).
- Provide administrative and logistical support to coaches for classes, check-ins, and reports.
Content & Resource Support
- Help prepare materials for presentations, webinars, and internal education.
- Organize and maintain app programs, exercise libraries, and educational resources.
- Support marketing and communication projects across corporate, community, and private client programs.
- Provide general administrative support to ensure consistent communication and documentation across departments.
Professional Development
- Attend regular mentorship meetings with your assigned Pro Coach or supervisor.
- Receive feedback and set measurable performance goals for advancement.
- Demonstrate growing independence in managing communication, deadlines, and deliverables.
Stage 3: Transition to Trainer (6+ months / Advancement Phase)Focus: Take ownership of coaching responsibilities, demonstrate leadership, and prepare for promotion to the Trainer role.
Coaching & Client Management
- Manage a limited number of clients or wellness programs independently using TriCore systems and protocols.
- Conduct client check-ins, monitor progress, and adjust programs under mentor guidance.
- Apply TriCore’s coaching philosophy and communication standards consistently.
- Assist in designing and leading small group sessions, challenges, or educational workshops.
Leadership & Mentorship
- Mentor incoming interns by supporting onboarding, system navigation, and team integration.
- Take initiative in improving internal systems, resources, or client experiences.
- Contribute to internal education through webinars, articles, or roundtable discussions.
- Participate in planning and strategy meetings with leadership and coaches.
Business & Professional Growth
- Learn foundational business and client acquisition skills relevant to the Trainer role.
- Assist in developing or refining TriCore’s program offerings or service initiatives.
- Define a personal coaching niche and begin outlining a professional growth plan within TriCore.
- Demonstrate the professionalism, reliability, and leadership expected of a TriCore Trainer.
Advancement Criteria
Interns may advance to the Trainer level upon successful completion of:
- Consistent demonstration of professionalism, reliability, and communication skills
- Confidence with TriCore’s digital platforms, systems, and tools
- Positive feedback from mentor and leadership
- Demonstrated understanding of TriCore’s wellness philosophy and client experience standards
- Ability to manage clients or projects independently
Trainer (Post-Intern Advancement)
- NASM, ACSM, ISSA, or ACE Certified Personal Trainer (or in progress).
- Basic nutrition certification or experience creating client meal plans.
- Experience managing clients through Trainerize or similar platforms (5+ hours logged).
- Strong grasp of movement mechanics, exercise progressions, and client communication.
- Demonstrated consistency and accountability during internship stages.
Qualifications and Skills
- Pursuing or recently completed a degree or certification in Exercise Science, Kinesiology, Nutrition, or related field.
- Strong communication and organizational skills.
- Interest in both the science and business of wellness.
- Eagerness to learn and apply feedback in a fast-paced, professional environment.
- Basic understanding of fitness principles, anatomy, and human performance.
- Proficiency with Google Suite; experience with Trainerize or similar platforms preferred but not required.
