Internship Position: Public Relations & Communications Intern
Job Description:
As a Public Relations & Communications Intern at UBYou, you will play a key role in shaping how UBYou is seen by the public, the media, and our partners. This position is ideal for students interested in PR, storytelling, and strategic communications, and who are passionate about making a difference in mental health, wellness, and student success.
You will help craft UBYou’s public image by drafting press releases, collecting powerful student stories, and preparing award submissions. Your work will ensure UBYou stands out as a trusted resource for students and a recognized leader in the campus wellness space.
Responsibilities Media Outreach & Press

Draft and distribute press releases to local and campus media outlets.

Support outreach for news coverage of major events, milestones, and partnerships.

Track media mentions and compile reports on UBYou’s visibility.
Storytelling & Content

Collect student testimonials and success stories to highlight UBYou’s impact.

Develop a “story bank” of quotes, photos, and videos for marketing and PR use.

Collaborate with the UBYou team to integrate stories into social media and campaigns.
Award Submissions & Recognition

Assist in identifying relevant awards, grants, and competitions.

Gather supporting documents, metrics, and narratives for submissions.

Ensure submissions are accurate, compelling, and aligned with UBYou’s mission.
Internal & External Communications

Support the creation of newsletters, stakeholder updates, and external communications.

Ensure all messaging reflects UBYou’s values and mission.

Maintain a consistent brand voice across digital and print communications.
Requirements

Strong writing, editing, and storytelling skills.

Interest in public relations, communications, or journalism.

Comfortable engaging with media professionals and external stakeholders.

Highly organized with attention to detail and deadlines.

Professional and confident communicator, both written and verbal.

Familiarity with Canva or similar design tools is a plus.
