If you are highly organized, have a good memory, enjoy physical labor, this may be the position for you! You will assist, in receiving, storing, handling, counting, and preparing products for customers and deliveries, while maintaining a safe and organized work area.
Duties & Responsibilities:
□ RECEIVING: Coordinate and Manage items coming into the building from vendors, customers, or other warehouses:
- Verify the quantity and description of items received.
- Unload/unpack incoming shipments.
- Pack and prepare outgoing shipments.
- Load and Unload the Box Truck with blanket wrap furniture.
- Repair and touch up furniture.
- Coordinate storage of items, or
- Prepare items for the showroom.
- Restock showroom.
□ADMINISTRATIVE- INVENTORY:
- Log and photograph any damaged items.
- Appropriately report/record any discrepancies.
□ SALES/CUSTOMER SERVICE:
- Assist customers and staff in a friendly and courteous manner.
- Support the Sales Staff with moving furniture for customers.
- Assist Customers loading their vehicles.
□ JOB REQUIREMENTS:
- Able to work occasional weekends.
- Must be dependable.
- Detail Oriented with a good memory or a good technique to remember tasks
- Able to identify products by size, type, style, color, or product code.
- Must be able to read, write, and verbally communicate in English.
- Understand and ability to use hand/power tools a plus, or we can teach
□ PHYSICAL WORK REQUIREMENTS
- Must be able to lift and carry up to 50lbs unassisted, occasionally lifting and moving up to 100lbs.
- Ability to climb ladders and stairs, kneel, crawl, crouch, and sit
- Position spends 90% of the time standing, walking, lifting, pulling, and pushing
- Ability to carefully move furniture and accessories through spatial awareness of ourselves and items being carried in confined area
- Able to withstand temperatures in a typical warehouse environment without Air Conditioning or Heat
□ MAINTENANCE:
- Assist with the maintenance and cleanliness of the building property and equipment.
- Use safety precautions to operate all the necessary tools and keep the area and equipment organized and clean.
