The Archives internship with the FGCU University Archives and Special Collections will provide the opportunity to learn about archival arrangement, description, and preservation. Students will gain hands-on experience processing historical materials for research use.
Interns are instructed in preservation and arrangement best practices, as well as museum standards of professional behavior and service. This internship provides opportunities for students to build upon new or existing skills and interests as well as introducing them to more hands-on work with historic collections.
Interns will work with the Archivist Supervisors to discuss both short-term and long-term solutions for making collections more accessible. Opportunities may vary by semester. Unpaid internships are offered on credit only.
